Sir Patrick Stewart The Empty Chair Professor X Whiskey Decanter

This glass decanter is sculpted in the shape of a wheelchair. The backrest forms the neck, topped with a faceted crystal-style stopper, and the large side wheels carry a bold X in their spokes. A small cluster of red roses rests on the seat, and a black-and-gold plaque below the seat names him, gives the years 1940–2026 and adds the title "The Empty Chair." Filled with whiskey, the whole chair glows amber.

It comes in a black presentation box printed with a profile portrait, a gold X, the line "A mind that changed worlds lives forever" and the title "Professor X Legacy Crystal Decanter." The silver-toned trim on the arms and footrest catches the light from every angle.

The decanter beside its box: "Some chairs are never truly empty."

The wheelchair became one of cinema's most recognisable seats

When the first X-Men film arrived in 2000, Stewart's Professor Charles Xavier gave the film its moral centre. He ran a school, read minds and spoke with a calm authority that made the chair feel like a throne. Over the next seventeen years he returned in X2, The Last Stand, Days of Future Past and Logan, and the wheelchair travelled with him through all of it.

Turning that chair into a decanter makes sense for a tribute piece. It is instantly recognisable on a shelf, and it honours a character defined by thought rather than force, a hero who rarely needed to stand up to change the outcome of a fight. Stewart gave him dignity and humour in equal measure.

Up close: the X-emblem wheels and the roses on the seat.

Logan gave the professor a farewell worthy of him

In Logan, released in 2017, Stewart played an older, frailer Xavier, cared for by Hugh Jackman's Wolverine far from the school he once ran. It was a raw and moving performance, and for years it felt like the definitive goodbye to the role. The empty chair on this decanter echoes that ending, a seat left behind by someone who mattered.

Yet the story did not quite end there. Stewart was cast to return as Xavier in Avengers: Doomsday, his final film, which is still to come. Fans who want to mark that coming chapter can pair the decanter with our Doctor Doom brick-built figure on the same shelf.

In a study, with his portrait on the wall and a signature card by the roses.

The roses turn a prop into a memorial

When the news of his death broke at the end of October 2026, Hugh Jackman, who shared the screen with him across the whole series, said he would miss him "all of my days." The roses on the seat speak to that kind of grief, the sense that a familiar place is suddenly vacant and yet still full of the person who sat there.

Placed in a study or home bar, the decanter becomes a small shrine to the professor without feeling heavy. It invites a toast, a memory and a story about where you first saw him, which is the gentlest kind of remembrance.

Held in one hand, it is a comfortable size to pour from or carry to the shelf.

Raise a measured glass to the professor

This is a display piece first and a serving vessel second, so treat it as a centrepiece and enjoy what you pour from it responsibly. It suits whiskey collectors, X-Men fans who grew up with the films, and anyone who wants to honour him in a way that feels personal rather than generic.

Set it on a bookshelf between the X-Men discs and a framed photo, or give it pride of place on a home bar where guests will ask about it. Either way, the chair keeps his professor present in the room, and the conversation it starts is one most fans are glad to have.
