Carolina Hurricanes 2026 Stanley Cup Champions Build Lenovo Center Advent Calendar

Game 6 in Las Vegas was 3:47 old when Taylor Hall scored on June 14, 2026, and Carolina never needed another goal. Brandon Bussi turned away all 22 shots he faced at T-Mobile Arena, Nikolaj Ehlers slid the puck into an empty net late, and a 3-0 win closed out the Vegas Golden Knights four games to two.

Across the lid, the swirling Hurricanes logo spins beside a silver Stanley Cup, with the NHL shield and 2026 Stanley Cup Champions on a banner below. The arena itself glows at the bottom, its glass facade lit red and white on a winter night, and the spine repeats the promise in capital letters: build Lenovo Center.

Jordan Staal waited seventeen years between championships

The captain scored eight goals in the playoffs, six of them in the Final, and at 37 he became the oldest winner of the Conn Smythe Trophy. His first Cup came with the Pittsburgh Penguins in 2009, and no player had ever gone so long between titles.

Carolina's first championship belonged to another era, a Game 7 win over Edmonton on June 19, 2006, when Rod Brind'Amour wore the captain's C. Twenty years later he was the coach behind the bench, which gave the 2026 celebration the feel of a family reunion as much as a parade.

The arena in the box has answered to four names

The building opened in 1999, two years after the franchise arrived from Hartford, where it had played as the Whalers. Its signs have changed three times since then:

• Raleigh Entertainment & Sports Arena, the name on opening day in 1999.
• RBC Center from 2002, the name over the door when the 2006 Cup was won at home.
• PNC Arena from 2012.
• Lenovo Center since 2024, the name printed on this calendar's facade and scoreboard.

Facade, stands and scoreboard modules lined up on a wooden table.

Red seats fill in a little more each December morning

The modules come as tiers of red seating, glass-fronted facade walls with the arena's name across them, the hanging scoreboard and a section of white ice marked with blue lines. They press together into a closed bowl, and on December 24 the last door gives up the Stanley Cup, which takes its place at center ice.

Because each module joins its neighbors, the bowl grows in a ring, and every few days the outline of the arena gets a little clearer. Save the hanging scoreboard until the walls are standing and it drops into place over the ice the way the real one hangs above Raleigh crowds.

Held up in the living room, the box shows the arena lit at night.

Caniacs bring their own celebration into December

Hurricanes fans know the Storm Surge, the celebration the players stage on the ice after a home win, and finishing this build on Christmas Eve feels like a quieter version of it. The Cup goes in last, the banner is already hanging, and the room gets its own small moment of noise.

Keep the theme going on game nights with our Hurricanes 2026 Stanley Cup champions Monopoly. Then put the finished arena where everyone who walks past can read that banner and ask about the night in Las Vegas.

The box with the completed Lenovo Center set out in front of it.
