Most actors are remembered for one face, but Patrick Stewart left audiences three, and each one deserves its own place on the board.
This set arrives on a deep navy collector card printed with gold stars, a fine border and the heading Patrick Stewart, The Legacy Collection, 1940 – 2026. Three gold-edged enamel pins sit in a row, each labelled beneath in small capitals: The Actor, The Captain and The Professor.
The first is an oval portrait of Stewart smiling in a dark jacket, framed by laurel and a 1940 – 2026 banner. The second is a round pin showing a cream command chair against a blue planet and a starfield, with a gold delta at its base. The third shows a thoughtful profile resting a hand on an open book, finished with a ribbon reading Wisdom & Legacy.
The full card: The Actor, The Captain and The Professor side by side.
The Actor pin honours the craft behind every role
Before any uniform or wheelchair, there was the work: drama school in Bristol, a first professional bow in 1959 and sixteen years as a member of the Royal Shakespeare Company. He won the Olivier Award twice and a Grammy for narrating Peter and the Wolf, and he was knighted in 2010 for services to drama.
The portrait pin therefore shows him as himself, smiling, not in costume. It recognises the craftsman who made the famous characters possible, and it is the pin most collectors place first on the card.
The Captain up close: the command chair above a blue planet, with the gold delta below.
The Captain pin puts the chair at the centre of the story
For seven seasons of Star Trek: The Next Generation, from 1987 to 1994, the captain's chair on the bridge was where Jean-Luc Picard listened, decided and gave his famous order to engage. The pin shows the chair empty, facing the stars, which turns a piece of set furniture into a symbol of the role itself.
Fans recognise the shape instantly. It is the seat he returned to in four feature films and revisited in Star Trek: Picard, and few pieces of television furniture are more instantly recognised.
Placing a pin back on the navy card, which doubles as a display board.
The Professor pin remembers a gentle kind of wisdom
Charles Xavier, the role Stewart played from X-Men in 2000 to Logan in 2017, was a teacher who believed in his students when the world would not. The third pin captures that spirit with a profile bent over an open book, the image of someone still learning even as he teaches.
The words Wisdom & Legacy on its ribbon could describe the actor as easily as the character. Kevin Feige of Marvel Studios called him "a legendary actor with an unmistakable presence, and an unmatched integrity," and the line fits this pin well.
Held in white collector gloves, the portrait pin shows its gold rim and enamel fill.
A set that grows into a collection
Pin collecting thrives at conventions, screenings and fan meet-ups, and a themed trio like this one makes a strong anchor for a board or a lanyard. Keep the three together on their card, or wear The Captain on a jacket and The Professor on a bag.
In the weeks after his death at 86, many fans have begun gathering small keepsakes from both of his great franchises. Alongside the pins, the Star Trek 60th anniversary ornament keeps the franchise's big year on the tree.
Three pins, three identities and one remarkable career: The Legacy Collection lets you hold the actor, the captain and the professor in the palm of your hand. Pin them where people can see them, and the stories will follow.
