Lowe's Dog Holiday Workshop 2026 Christmas Advent Calendar Paws and Projects

The box is navy with snowflakes and holly, with the Lowe's Dog name set inside a roofline frame and Holiday Workshop on a cream banner below. On the front, a golden retriever in a yellow hard hat and a blue Lowe's apron grins and raises a hammer at a workbench full of tools and paint tins, with a wreath and a decorated tree behind. Paw prints, a hammer and a wrench run down the spine above the line 24 Days of Paws & Projects.

The box and the full crew of 24 dogs in blue aprons.

Every breed in the workshop had a job first

The designers matched tools to personalities. The fun is that so many of the pairings echo what these dogs were originally bred to do:

Breed	Original work	In the workshop
Golden retriever	Retrieving game birds in the Scottish Highlands in the 1800s	Hard hat and hammer, foreman on the cover
Border collie	Herding sheep along the English–Scottish border	Carries a plank of wood
Dachshund	A German "badger dog" built to follow quarry underground	Works the hand saw
Pembroke corgi	Driving cattle by nipping at their heels	Pushes a wheelbarrow with a little tree
Dalmatian	Running beside carriages and fire wagons	Keeps watch in a red scarf
German shepherd	A herding dog standardised in late 1800s Germany	Checks everything with a spirit level
Schnauzer	Catching rats on German farms	Holds the wrench
Rottweiler	Driving cattle to market in Rottweil	Brings a finished birdhouse
Labrador	Helping fishermen in Newfoundland	Wrapped in a string of lights
Beagle	Tracking by scent	Runs the power drill

The rest of the crew brings its own talents

Not every dog was bred for labour, and the calendar has fun with that. A pug in goggles and ear defenders, a French bulldog with a paint roller and a doodle with a wreath all pitch in, as do a Westie in safety glasses, a Yorkie with a poinsettia and a Cavalier carrying a potted plant.

A pointer handles the leaf blower, a husky shows up in a Santa hat and a sheltie arrives with a wrapped present. Children can hunt for the breed that lives in their own house, and dog owners usually find theirs within a few days.

The tree ends up full of good dogs

Hang one dog each night and the branches slowly turn into a building site of wagging tails, hard hats and tiny tools. Lowe's began as a single hardware store in North Wilkesboro, North Carolina, in 1921, and its blue aprons have since become the uniform of weekend DIY across America, so the crew is dressed for the job.

It makes a cheerful gift for a household that spends Saturdays in the Lowe's aisles and the rest of the weekend on home projects, especially when the family dog insists on supervising. The Rottweiler's birdhouse even nods to the simple wooden kits that kids build at in-store workshops.

Add a doghouse Christmas ornament to the top branch. Then the crew has somewhere to rest after the last shift on Christmas Eve.
