Trevor Henderson Creatures 2026 Advent Calendar

The box shows a snowy night under a full moon, with telephone poles lining the road, a decorated Christmas tree, wrapped gifts and a horned, siren-headed figure looming at the edge of the frame. The title reads "Trevor Henderson Creatures — Advent Calendar 2026 — 24 Days of Nightmare Monsters."

Next to the box are 24 numbered illustrations of grotesque humanoids, animal-like monsters, skeletal figures and cartoon-styled creatures. Every number is a different monster, so the countdown works like a bestiary that fills up as December goes on.

Siren Head is the creature that put Trevor Henderson on the map

Trevor Henderson is a Toronto-based horror artist whose creatures spread across social media. Siren Head, a towering figure with loudspeakers for a head, burst onto the internet in August 2018 and became one of the most recognizable monsters of the online-horror generation. The telephone poles and the siren-headed silhouette on the box are a direct echo of it: the poles are the habitat, and the siren is the sound of something calling you out into the cold.

Cartoon Cat and Long Horse show his two registers

Henderson works in two distinct modes. Cartoon Cat borrows the look of 1930s rubber-hose animation and turns its grin into something unsettling, while Long Horse is a gentle-looking figure with an impossibly long neck. The mix of old-cartoon charm and quiet dread is what gives the series its unique flavor. The cartoon-styled monsters among the 24 ornaments are a nod to that side of his work, and they sit comfortably next to the grotesque and skeletal designs.

The Christmas tree and gifts make the horror cozy and wrong

A snowy road with a lit Christmas tree is the standard picture of a warm December, and the monsters inside it are the joke. The calendar leans on the contrast between holiday comfort and the dread of a figure standing in the dark just outside the light. That juxtaposition is what makes the set feel like a horror fan's holiday rather than a generic monster pack.

A countdown for people who collect monsters, not just scares

Because every ornament is a separate creature, the calendar suits people who like to learn a monster's name and story rather than simply be startled. It also pairs well with other internet-horror pieces, such as the Creepypasta Advent Calendar and the Jason Voorhees vinyl figure. Open the 24 doors and the shelf ends up with a full monster lineup in a single, tidy set.

Slender Man to Siren Head is a straight line of internet folklore

The modern online monster tradition shares a pattern. Slender Man arrived in 2009 as two edited photographs on a forum, and Siren Head followed in 2018 as a single image posted by an artist. In both cases the creature began as a picture and the audience built the lore, which is the reason these designs feel like folklore more than like film monsters. The calendar collects that lineage in one box, giving each of the 24 creatures its own door and its own place on the shelf, and the numbered grid beside the box doubles as a roster you can check off every morning.
