The Lionel Messi Argentina Final Farewell Topps NOW 2-Card Trading Card Pack pairs the familiar No. 10 in sky blue and white with a sealed format built around appearances, goals, assists and the possibility of an exceptionally rare farewell card.
The pack artwork keeps Argentina at the center. Messi appears in the national-team kit beside the AFA crest and its three stars, while “THE FINAL FAREWELL” gives the release a very different meaning from a general career retrospective or club card.
That wording became literal in 2026. Messi announced the end of his Argentina career on August 31, then returned for one specially arranged final appearance at Estadio Monumental on October 6. His last match ended with a goal, two assists and a 3–0 Argentina victory over Benin.

Lionel Messi Final Farewell pack artwork centered on Argentina’s No. 10, the three-star AFA identity and a sealed two-card collector format.
“The Final Farewell” closes a 21-year Argentina story
Messi’s senior Argentina career began in 2005 and ended in Buenos Aires more than two decades later.
The ending arrived in two stages. After Argentina’s 2026 World Cup campaign, Messi announced his international retirement on August 31, describing the national-team chapter as one that was finally closing. FIFA noted that his World Cup final appearance against Spain had seemed to be the end.
Argentina then created a final occasion specifically for him.
On October 6, more than 85,000 supporters filled the Monumental for a farewell friendly against Benin. Messi scored and supplied two assists in Argentina’s 3–0 victory before saying goodbye to the national team after 21 years. FIFA’s tribute described the night as the final match of his extraordinary Argentina career.
That distinction makes this pack more specific than something simply marked “Messi 2026.” The farewell is attached to the Argentina shirt and the end of his international career, while his club career continues separately.
The three-star crest reinforces the same focus. It places the cards in the Argentina chapter that eventually included the 2022 World Cup title alongside Copa América victories in 2021 and 2024. FIFA’s retirement coverage specifically identifies those trophies among the defining achievements of Messi’s national-team career.

Argentina imagery turns the pack into a farewell to Messi’s international career rather than a general tribute to every stage of his football life.
The two-card format turns career statistics into the chase
The most interesting part of the release is that two cards does not mean two predictable cards.
Topps’ official configuration gives each pack one card from the main farewell slot and one from the variation slot. The first can be a Farewell Base card, numbered parallel or 1-of-1 autograph. The second can be a variation, SSP or 1-of-1 variation autograph. Topps advertises four possible 1-of-1 Messi autographs across the release.
The variations then turn major parts of Messi’s Argentina record into separate collecting themes.
Topps lists an All-Time Assists variation at approximately 1:2 packs, All-Time Appearances at 1:3 and All-Time Goals at 1:6. Above them sits an SSP actually titled “The Final Farewell,” appearing at approximately 1:200 packs.
That structure gives the sealed pack more narrative logic than a random two-card assortment. A collector may open something focused on longevity, creativity or scoring, with each variation representing a different way of summarizing Messi’s Argentina career.
It also means an autograph should never be presented as standard pack contents. Promotional artwork may foreground signed-card imagery because autographs are part of the chase, but Topps identifies them as 1-of-1 possibilities, not guaranteed cards.

The Final Farewell release uses two card slots to chase base, parallel, statistical variation, SSP and rare 1-of-1 autograph possibilities.
A sealed pack preserves the uncertainty of the farewell release
Keeping the product as a two-card pack gives it a different collecting rhythm from buying one known commemorative card.
The subject is fixed—Messi’s Argentina farewell—but the exact treatment is not. That uncertainty creates the appeal: the pack can connect the final match with a career-stat variation, numbered parallel or much rarer chase card while remaining visually tied to the same national-team story.
Topps itself treated the release as a limited-time NOW product, making the Final Farewell Pack available from October 9 through October 16, 2026, only days after Messi’s last Argentina appearance.
That timing makes the release feel closer to a snapshot of the actual farewell than a retrospective produced years later.
For collectors who prefer the same Argentina ending in a larger display format rather than sealed cards, the Lionel Messi Argentina Farewell Tribute 3D Acrylic Plaque carries the retirement story into a multi-image commemorative piece built around his national-team achievements.

The strength of the pack is ultimately its narrow focus. It does not try to summarize Barcelona, Paris, Miami and Argentina in two cards. It stays with one shirt, one national-team ending and several statistical ways of remembering what Messi did while wearing it.
