Disney Pixar Toy Story Christmas Patchwork Ugly Sweater

The sweatshirt is built from four colour blocks like a quilt: deep red, cream, sand and green, with green sleeves and red ribbing at the collar, cuffs and hem. Each block holds its own Toy Story Christmas joke. The top-left square has the Toy Story logo wearing a Santa hat and reindeer antlers, the top-right shows Slinky Dog under the word "Dashing," the lower-left wraps Rex in Christmas lights above the words "Tree Rex," and the lower-right puts the three-eyed Aliens on a classic knit-sweater pattern framed by rows of "Oooooh."

Four panels, green sleeves and red ribbed trim.

Each panel is a pun on a Christmas carol or tradition

The humour works best when you read the blocks one by one:

Panel	The joke
Toy Story logo in a Santa hat	The film's title dressed for December, antlers and all
"Dashing" Slinky Dog	A nod to "Dashing through the snow" from Jingle Bells, with the stretchiest dog in the toy box
"Tree Rex"	Rex wrapped in lights and stacked with presents, turning the nervous dinosaur into the family tree
Aliens "Oooooh"	The Aliens' famous gasp of awe, set inside an ugly-sweater knit pattern

The panels are separated by clean seams of colour, so the design feels like four small posters rather than one crowded print. Each panel can be read from across a room, which is exactly what a party sweater needs.

Laid flat, the four panels read like a patchwork quilt.

Toy Story changed animation in 1995

Toy Story, released by Pixar and Disney in November 1995, was the first feature-length film made entirely with computer animation. Directed by John Lasseter, it introduced Woody and Buzz Lightyear and turned toys like Rex, Slinky Dog and the Aliens from Pizza Planet's claw machine into characters a whole generation grew up with.

Three decades later the series is still breaking records. Toy Story 5 opened in theatres on June 19, 2026, and its estimated $160 million domestic opening weekend was the biggest in the franchise's history. A Christmas sweatshirt built around the supporting cast is a nice reminder of why fans keep coming back: the side characters are as loved as the stars.

The Aliens' "Oooooh" became one of Pixar's best running gags

The squeaky green Aliens first appeared inside the claw game at Pizza Planet, worshipping "the claw" and greeting every rescuer with a long, amazed "Oooooh." Using that gasp as a border pattern is a clever swap for the snowflakes and reindeer usually found on a holiday knit, and anyone who has seen the films will hear it in their head.

The knit-style square is printed rather than knitted, which keeps the sweatshirt light and smooth enough to wear all day while still giving it the ugly-sweater look people expect at a December party. It also means no itchy wool, a common complaint about real holiday knits.

Held up, Tree Rex and the Aliens sit on the lower half.

An easy pick for family photos and office parties

Patchwork colour blocking flatters more people than an all-over red sweater, and the green sleeves make it look festive without shouting. It works for a family Christmas card where everyone wears a different Pixar design, a classroom holiday party or a movie night with the whole Toy Story run. For the countdown before the big day, the Toy Story Christmas 24 Days Countdown Advent Calendar keeps the same characters in play.

Parents who grew up with the 1995 film tend to like it as much as their kids do, which is part of the appeal. It is one of the few holiday tops that a parent and a ten-year-old will both happily wear.

Worn by the tree, the cream and red panels stand out.
